Kate Maberly and Omar Sharif discussing the cure of the mummies.

Mysteries of Egypt was originally an Imax film, and is now available on VHS and DVD. Kate plays Omar Sharif’s granddaughter, Anna, in this educational film. The gloves are left on for this one, repeating facts that every school child who has ever studied Egypt knows. She only has maybe two minutes of screen time. I recommend this one only if you are a die-hard fan like myself.

Genre: Short/Documentary Not rated in the US, but it was an imax film so it would get a G.
This film is fine for all ages viewing wise, but it would not show it to children under 6 as it would be uninteresting.

As an interesting note, Bruce Neibaur who directed this, wrote Friendship’s Field, which Kate also stars in. In Hollywood it’s who you know…

Mysteries of Egypt won the Gold Camera in the History category by U.S. International Film and Video Festival
