glum and gulliver talking Glum dreams about her future

In Gulliver’s Travels Kate plays Glumdalclitch, a preteen giant from the land of Brobdingnag. If Ted Danson is six feet tall, then she must be at least sixty feet tall! Her character is the daughter of a farmer who upon finding the diminutive Lemuel Gulliver (Danson) decides to use him to his advantage and display him as ‘the spirit of the cornfield’ collecting gold pieces in exchange for blessings. The queen, upon finding out about this creature buys him from the father, and Glum is taken along to the castle as Gulliver’s keeper.

Kate is in the three or so hour movie for about a half hour on and off. Even with very few lines her performance is impressive.

Genre: Fantasy/Adventure Rated PG
The themes are complex in this allegory, so I would recommend this for viewers age 12 and older.

Gulliver's Travels won five Emmy's, a Golden Satellite Award, a Humanitas Prize, and a RTS Television Award.

It had an all-star cast including (but not limited too) Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Ned Beatty, Peter O'Toole, Alfre Woodard, Warwick Davis, James Fox, Edward Fox, Robert Hardy, Kristin Scott Thomas, Sir John Gielgud, and Mac McDonald. Directed by Charles Sturridge.
